Honda Builds New Technology To Eliminate Traffic Jams

Many automakers are working on GPS systems that will allow drivers in the greater Denison area and beyond to avoid congested areas of a city in their commutes by analyzing data and making an educated guess. Honda, however, isn't like many automakers. Rather than inconveniencing drivers by making adjustments to their travel routes, Honda is taking things a step further by teaming with the Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology at the University of Tokyo to develop a new system aims to prevent traffic jams from occurring all together.

Well, maybe not end them entirely. After all, that…

Honda Plans to Offer More Models with Rearview Cameras in 2013

Honda offers some of the safest vehicles on the road today. That's not a matter of opinion. It's a matter of fact. For proof, look no further than the company's exemplary ratings from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and Insurance Institute for Highway Safety alike.

Of course, Red River Honda, serving Denison, TX, knows that the Big H can always work to improve its safety game even further. After all, driving will always involve being behind the wheel of a very large piece of metal that moves at very fast speeds. To this extent, Honda has…

KBB Brand Image Awards Given to Honda

Honda recently took home two "Brand Image Awards" from Kelley Blue Book, and Red River Honda, serving Denison, TX, couldn't be more thrilled. Honda earned the title of "Best Value Brand" and "Most Trusted Brand" from the automotive vehicle valuation company. As for why Honda ranked first in each category? They took the time to explain.

"Without surprising anyone, our inaugural "Most Trusted Brand" award goes to a name that's practically synonymous with reliability and dependability," explain Kbb.com's editors. "Honda's vehicles enjoy a decades-deep reputation as the smart choice in so many of the categories…

2012 Honda Fit Wins Another Award

When Red River Honda, serving the greater Denison Texas area, says that the 2012 Honda Fit is one capable vehicle, we mean it. The subcompact hatchback features not shortage of awards. It's been designated an Insurance Institute for Highway Safety TOP SAFETY PICK. It topped the subcompact segment of the J.D. Power and Associates' Initial Quality Study. It received a 2012 Residual Value Award from ALG. And, perhaps most impressive of all, it's a six-time winner of Car and Drive magazine's "10 Best Cars" award.

Now, as if that list wasn't already impressive enough, the…

Honda Looks to Improve Sales in Australia

The Honda Civic will receive new variants throughout Australia, though each seems very similar to those available in Denison, TX at Red River Honda.

The Japanese company wants to get sales figures in the country/continent back up to their 2010 amount of 40,000 units a year. An upgraded base VTi-L will offer more standard features, but a lower price than last year's vehicle. Civic Sport, along with Civic hatchback, will make up 25% to 30% of volume coming from the auto maker.

Honda Australia Director Stephen Collins confirmed these models "will be sold with either a 1…

Honda Supports Young Athletes

Let's face it, even today, Baseball is considered one of America's greatest past times. As such, its hard to believe that some children today do not have access to the sport, either to watch or play. It may or may not have been a part of your childhood to play on that little league or softball team, but hopefully you at least had the chance. Honda has discovered today that many children are…

Honda Environmental Efforts Paying Off

Saying Honda was ahead of its time was an understatement.  Back in 1992, they issued the "Honda Environmental Statement", which outlined its plan to proactively preserve the environment.   Recycling and conservation of materials was at the heart of the plan - from product conception to production.  To improve transparency Honda started releasing annual environmental reports, which survey the impact their operations have across the North American Region. On January 23 2012, Honda released their latest findings from 2011. Red River Honda is happy to say, Honda's painstaking attention to detail is paying off.

2013 Honda Civic Upgrades

The 2012 Honda Civic was received well by most of its drivers.  However, the Japanese auto maker decided to fix some of its drawbacks in the 2013 variant.

Some of the upgrades includes better interior quality and noise reduction. These were key reasons Civic failed to receive a "recommended" status from Consumer Reports this past year.

"Building a good car isn't enough for us, we have to build a great car," John Mendel, Honda's executive vice president of sales in the US, said. "We think we can do better and the customer expects that and we will."1…
