The 2012 Honda Civic was received well by most of its drivers.  However, the Japanese auto maker decided to fix some of its drawbacks in the 2013 variant.

 

Some of the upgrades includes better interior quality and noise reduction. These were key reasons Civic failed to receive a "recommended" status from Consumer Reports this past year.

 

"Building a good car isn't enough for us, we have to build a great car," John Mendel, Honda's executive vice president of sales in the US, said. "We think we can do better and the customer expects that and we will."^1…

In recent years the manual transmission has become increasingly more popular.  A couple benefits include a lower cost vehicle, simplicity and fuel efficiency.  We at Red River Honda are not sure exactly why this trend is happing but we do know that Honda will offer a manual drive variant of its 2012 CR-Z.

Honda is coming to America. Well, it's actually already here. Honda vehicles distributed in North America, to dealers including Red River Honda, produce those Denison, TX sold models in the Southern US. Their Alabama plant just got the word that it will expand.

 

The Japanese auto maker has $84 million to invest in this plan, and will hire over 100 workers to expand production of this Alabama assembly line.

Unfortunately, you won't be able to get a 5-Door Honda Civic in the United States. But there are many 4-Door and Coupe models available at Red River Honda - 2020 Highway 75 in Denison, TX. Honda says their 'Euro-Spec Civic' was designed to "offer the best in aerodynamics," thus offering optimal fuel economy.¹

 

What's different about the European Civic 5-Door?  We'll not much.  The cabin is given 'soft touch' plastics, a redesigned steering wheel and infotainment system.  2012's model is 10mm wider, 20mm lower, and comes with either 16 or 17-inch alloy wheels.

According to Japanese magazine Nikkei, "The decision to sell the natural gas Civic throughout the United States is in response to increased interest in green cars and fuel efficient cars." This comes out as the Japanese auto maker introduces their Civic CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) car to various dealerships including Red River Honda in Denison, TX.¹
